The University of Bradford is a public research university located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. It received its Royal Charter in 1966, making it the 40th university to be created in the United Kingdom. The university has a strong focus on employability and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

History[edit]

The origins of the University of Bradford can be traced back to the establishment of the Bradford Technical College in 1882. The college was one of the first institutions to offer courses in engineering and textiles, reflecting the industrial heritage of the city. In 1957, it became the Bradford Institute of Technology, and in 1966, it was granted university status.
