Impact play
Impact play is a human sexual practice in which one person (the bottom) is struck (usually repeatedly) by another person (the Top) for the sexual gratification of either or both.
Overview[edit]
Impact play is a form of BDSM that involves hitting the body to cause pain. It can be done with the hands (spanking), or with various tools such as whips, paddles, and floggers. The pain caused by impact play can trigger the release of endorphins, causing a pleasurable high for the person being hit.
Types of Impact Play[edit]
There are several types of impact play, including but not limited to:
- Spanking: This is probably the most well-known type of impact play. It involves hitting the buttocks with the hand or with a spanking implement like a paddle or a hairbrush.
- Whipping: This involves hitting the body with a whip. Whips can cause intense pain and are often used in more extreme forms of BDSM.
- Flogging: This involves hitting the body with a flogger, which is a type of whip that has multiple tails.
- Caning: This involves hitting the body with a cane, usually made of wood, bamboo, or plastic.
Safety[edit]
Safety is a major concern in impact play. It's important to know the correct techniques to avoid causing serious injury. For example, you should avoid hitting areas where organs or bones are close to the surface of the skin, such as the kidneys or the tailbone. It's also important to have a safe word and to stop immediately if the bottom uses it.
