Dentyne

Dentyne is a popular brand of chewing gum that was first produced by the American Chicle Company, a subsidiary of Warner-Lambert, in 1899. The name "Dentyne" is a combination of the words "dental" and "hygiene", reflecting the company's emphasis on the gum's ability to clean and freshen the mouth.

History

The American Chicle Company first introduced Dentyne in 1899. The company was later acquired by Warner-Lambert, which continued to produce the gum. In 2000, Warner-Lambert was acquired by Pfizer, which sold the Dentyne brand to Cadbury Schweppes in 2002. Cadbury Schweppes then spun off its confectionery division in 2008 to form Cadbury plc, which was subsequently acquired by Kraft Foods in 2010. Today, Dentyne is produced by Mondelez International, a company formed by the split of Kraft Foods into two companies.

Varieties

Over the years, Dentyne has introduced several varieties of its gum, including Dentyne Classic, Dentyne Ice, and Dentyne Fire. Each variety offers a unique flavor and experience for the consumer. Dentyne Classic is the original cinnamon flavored gum, while Dentyne Ice offers a cool mint flavor and Dentyne Fire provides a spicy cinnamon flavor.

Marketing

Dentyne has been known for its innovative marketing campaigns. One of its most famous slogans is "Dentyne makes your mouth's pH more alkaline and helps keep your teeth white naturally." This slogan emphasizes the gum's ability to promote oral health.
