JWH-203 is a synthetic cannabinoid from the naphthoylindole family, which acts as a potent cannabinoid agonist at both the CB1 and CB2 receptors, with a Ki of 0.46nM at CB1 and 0.69nM at CB2. It is an analog of JWH-018 where the core indole structure is substituted with an indazole base.

Chemistry[edit]

JWH-203 is part of the Naphthoylindole family of synthetic cannabinoids. It is an analog of JWH-018, which means it has a similar structure but with slight modifications. In the case of JWH-203, the core indole structure is substituted with an indazole base.

Pharmacology[edit]

JWH-203 acts as a potent cannabinoid agonist at both the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The Ki values for binding central cannabinoid (CB1) and peripheral cannabinoid (CB2) receptors are 0.46nM and 0.69nM, respectively. The precise mechanism of action and the full spectrum of pharmacological effects are currently not well understood due to the relatively recent discovery and study of these compounds.

Legal Status[edit]

The legal status of JWH-203 varies by country and sometimes by region within a country. It is important to check local laws before possessing or distributing this substance. In many places, it is classified as a controlled substance due to its structural similarity to other banned synthetic cannabinoids.
