Mechanism of Action

Clinical Uses

Tosufloxacin is used to treat infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and gastrointestinal infections. It is also effective against pneumonia and otitis media.

Side Effects

Common side effects of tosufloxacin include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness. Serious side effects may include tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects such as seizures.

Contraindications

Tosufloxacin should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to quinolones. It is also contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to potential adverse effects on the developing fetus and infant.

Pharmacokinetics
