VCA Animal Hospitals
VCA Animal Hospitals is a network of veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada. It is one of the largest providers of pet health care services in North America, offering a wide range of medical and surgical services for pets.
History
VCA Animal Hospitals was founded in 1986 in Los Angeles, California. The company was established by three veterinarians: Neil Tauber, Robert Antin, and Arthur Antin. Initially, VCA focused on acquiring and managing veterinary hospitals, and it quickly expanded its network across the United States.
In 2017, VCA was acquired by Mars, Incorporated, a global leader in pet care, for approximately $9.1 billion. This acquisition allowed VCA to further expand its services and integrate with Mars Petcare's other veterinary and pet care businesses.
