Sophie Dahl (born Sophie Holloway on 15 September 1977) is an English author, model, and television presenter. She is the granddaughter of British author Roald Dahl and actress Patricia Neal.

Early life[edit]

Sophie Dahl was born in London, England, to actor Julian Holloway and writer Tessa Dahl. She spent her early years in England, but later moved to New York City with her mother.

Career[edit]

Modeling[edit]

Dahl began her modeling career in the late 1990s, working with photographers like Steven Meisel and David LaChapelle. She gained international recognition as a model for her voluptuous figure and striking features, appearing in campaigns for brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, and Alexander McQueen.

Writing[edit]

In the mid-2000s, Dahl shifted her focus from modeling to writing. She has authored several books, including a novel, Playing With the Grown-ups, and two cookbooks, Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights and From Season to Season. Dahl has also written articles and essays for publications like Vogue, The Guardian, and The New York Times.

Dahl has appeared on television as a presenter and host, most notably for her BBC cooking series, The Delicious Miss Dahl. The show, which aired in 2010, focused on her love for cooking and her passion for using seasonal ingredients.

Personal life[edit]

Sophie Dahl married musician Jamie Cullum in 2010. The couple has two children.
