Monroeville is a borough with home rule status in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh, Monroeville is a bustling suburb with a mix of residential and commercial developments.

History

Monroeville was settled in the mid-18th century and was originally known as "Patton Township." It was incorporated as a borough in 1951. The area was named after Joel Monroe, the area's first postmaster.
