CIDSE
CIDSE
CIDSE stands for the International Cooperation for Development and Solidarity. It is an international alliance of Catholic development agencies working together for global justice. CIDSE was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
History
CIDSE was established in response to the call for international solidarity and cooperation made by the Second Vatican Council. The organization was created to coordinate the efforts of Catholic development agencies in Europe and North America to address issues of poverty and injustice in the Global South.
Mission and Vision

The organization works to influence policies at the international level and supports grassroots initiatives in developing countries. CIDSE envisions a world of solidarity and justice, where the dignity and rights of every person are respected.
Structure
CIDSE is composed of 18 member organizations from Europe and North America. These members collaborate on various projects and campaigns, sharing resources and expertise. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for strategic decision-making.

- Economic Justice: CIDSE campaigns for economic systems that prioritize human rights and environmental sustainability. The organization addresses issues such as tax justice, corporate accountability, and fair trade.
- Gender Equality: CIDSE promotes gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. The organization supports initiatives that address gender-based violence and discrimination.
