Noggin is an American children's television brand owned by Nickelodeon, a division of ViacomCBS. The brand was originally launched as a cable television channel on February 2, 1999, and has since evolved into a streaming service and educational brand.

History

Noggin was created as a joint venture between Nickelodeon and Children's Television Workshop (now Sesame Workshop). The channel was initially aimed at pre-teens and teenagers, featuring a mix of educational and entertainment programming. Over time, Noggin shifted its focus to preschool-aged children.

In 2002, Noggin introduced a programming block called "The N," which targeted teenagers. This block eventually became its own channel, TeenNick, in 2009. Following this change, Noggin rebranded to focus exclusively on preschool content.
