History

The company was originally established as Best and Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1860, the company was taken over by Jacob Best's son, Phillip Best, and was later renamed the Phillip Best Brewing Company. In 1863, Frederick Pabst joined the company and eventually became a partner. The company was renamed Pabst Brewing Company in 1889 in honor of Frederick Pabst.
