Kansas Republican Party

The Kansas Republican Party is the state affiliate of the Republican Party (United States) in the state of Kansas. The party is headquartered in Topeka, Kansas.
History[edit]
The Kansas Republican Party was established in the 1850s, around the same time as the national Republican Party. The party played a significant role in the Bleeding Kansas conflict, which was a series of violent political confrontations involving anti-slavery and pro-slavery elements in Kansas between 1854 and 1861.
Organization[edit]
The Kansas Republican Party is organized at the state, county, and local levels. The state party is governed by a State Committee, which includes representatives from each of the state's congressional districts. The party's activities are overseen by the State Chair, who is elected by the State Committee.
