The Surface Go was first released on August 2, 2018, and is known for its portability, versatility, and affordability compared to other devices in the Surface lineup.

Design and Features[edit]

The Surface Go features a 10-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 1800x1200 pixels, providing a 3:2 aspect ratio. The device is equipped with a kickstand that allows it to be used in various modes, including tablet mode, laptop mode, and studio mode. The Surface Go is compatible with the Surface Pen, which supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, making it suitable for drawing and note-taking.

The device is powered by an Intel Pentium Gold processor, with options for 4GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of eMMC or SSD storage. It runs on the Windows 10 operating system, with an option to upgrade to Windows 11.

Connectivity[edit]

The Surface Go includes a variety of connectivity options, such as a USB-C port, a Surface Connect port, a microSDXC card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.

Accessories[edit]

The Surface Go is compatible with several accessories, including the Surface Type Cover, which provides a physical keyboard and trackpad, and the Surface Mobile Mouse. These accessories enhance the functionality of the device, making it more versatile for different use cases.

Variants[edit]

Since its initial release, Microsoft has introduced several variants of the Surface Go, including the Surface Go 2 and Surface Go 3. These newer models feature improved specifications, such as better processors, enhanced battery life, and upgraded display quality.

Reception[edit]

The Surface Go has been generally well-received for its compact size, build quality, and versatility. It is often praised for being a budget-friendly alternative to other Surface devices, making it accessible to students and professionals who need a portable computing solution.
