Conservation International (CI) is an American nonprofit organization headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. Founded in 1987, CI's mission is to protect nature for the benefit of humanity. History

Conservation International was founded in 1987 by Spencer Beebe, a former Nature Conservancy executive. The organization initially focused on protecting biodiversity hotspots, areas with high levels of endemic species that are under significant threat from human activities.
