The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football team based in Seattle, Washington. They are members of the National Football League (NFL) and compete in the league's National Football Conference (NFC) West division. The team was established in 1974 and began playing in 1976 as an expansion team.
History
The Seahawks were founded by a group of Seattle business and community leaders led by Lloyd W. Nordstrom. The team played its first season in 1976 and initially competed in the NFC West before moving to the American Football Conference (AFC) West in 1977. In 2002, the team returned to the NFC West as part of the NFL's realignment.
Stadium
The Seahawks play their home games at Lumen Field, which is located in the SoDo district of downtown Seattle. The stadium, known for its loud and passionate fans, has a seating capacity of 68,740 and features a retractable roof.

The team's colors are College navy, Action green, and Wolf grey. The Seahawks' mascots are Blitz and Boom.

The Seahawks have won one Super Bowl championship, which they achieved in Super Bowl XLVIII by defeating the Denver Broncos. They have also won three NFC championships and eleven division titles. The team has made nineteen playoff appearances.
