PGA Tour

PGA Tour
The PGA Tour is the organizer of the main professional golf tours played primarily by men in the United States and North America. It organizes most of the events on the flagship annual series of tournaments also known as the PGA Tour, as well as the PGA Tour Champions (for golfers age 50 and older) and the Korn Ferry Tour (for professional golfers who have not yet qualified to play on the PGA Tour).
History
The PGA Tour was established in 1929 and has grown to become one of the most prestigious golf tours in the world. The tour was originally part of the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA of America), but it became a separate entity in 1968.
Tournaments
The PGA Tour hosts a series of annual tournaments, including the four major championships: the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the Open Championship. Other notable tournaments include the Players Championship, the FedEx Cup playoffs, and the World Golf Championships.
Structure
The PGA Tour operates as a non-profit organization and is headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It is governed by a board of directors and a commissioner. The current commissioner is Jay Monahan.
Players
The PGA Tour features many of the world's top golfers, including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, and Dustin Johnson. Players earn their tour cards through various means, including finishing in the top 125 on the previous season's money list, winning a tournament, or graduating from the Korn Ferry Tour.
Related Tours
In addition to the main PGA Tour, the organization also oversees the PGA Tour Champions, the Korn Ferry Tour, the PGA Tour Canada, the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and the PGA Tour China.
