History[edit]

International Home Foods was founded in 1996 when it was spun off from American Home Products. The company quickly grew through a series of acquisitions, including the purchase of Chef Boyardee, Gulden's, and Libby's canned meats. In 2000, International Home Foods was acquired by ConAgra Foods, which integrated its brands into its own portfolio.

International Home Foods was known for several well-recognized brands, including:

Acquisition by ConAgra Foods[edit]

In 2000, ConAgra Foods acquired International Home Foods for approximately $2.9 billion. This acquisition allowed ConAgra to expand its product offerings and strengthen its position in the packaged foods industry. The brands previously owned by International Home Foods were integrated into ConAgra's existing product lines.

Legacy[edit]

The acquisition of International Home Foods by ConAgra Foods marked the end of the company as an independent entity. However, the brands that were once part of International Home Foods continue to be popular and are still available in the market under the ConAgra Foods umbrella.
