University of Texas at Dallas (UTD or UT Dallas) is a public research university located in Richardson, Texas, United States. It is part of the University of Texas System. UT Dallas was initially founded in 1961 as the Graduate Research Center of the Southwest, an extension of the Texas Instruments corporation. It became a part of the University of Texas System in 1969. Since then, UT Dallas has grown to offer a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.
