McIntosh County, Georgia is a county located in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 11,556. The county seat is Darien, which is known for its rich history and as a gateway to Sapelo Island, an area with significant African American heritage and culture.

McIntosh County was established in 1793 and named after the prominent McIntosh family, which included leaders such as General Lachlan McIntosh.
