Since its opening on September 12, 2005, the resort has become a major entertainment destination in Asia, attracting millions of visitors from around the world each year.

History[edit]

The concept of establishing a Disney theme park in Hong Kong began in the late 1990s, with the Hong Kong government and The Walt Disney Company finalizing the agreement in 1999. The construction of the park commenced in 2003, with an aim to boost tourism and create jobs in Hong Kong. The park officially opened to the public on September 12, 2005.

The resort has undergone several expansions since its opening, adding new attractions and increasing its capacity to accommodate more visitors. Notable expansions include the addition of Toy Story Land in 2011, Grizzly Gulch in 2012, and Mystic Point in 2013. In 2016, the resort announced a multi-year expansion plan, which includes the addition of a Frozen-themed land and a Marvel-themed area.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort offers three themed hotels for guests wishing to extend their stay:

Each hotel provides guests with unique themes, dining options, and recreational activities, enhancing the overall Disney experience.
