Viral disease is a type of disease caused by viruses. Viruses are small infectious agents that can only replicate inside the cells of another organism. Viral diseases can affect many types of organisms, including animals, plants, bacteria, and archaea. They can also affect humans, causing diseases that range from mild to severe.
