Beta Beta Beta

Beta Beta Beta (ΒΒΒ), also known as TriBeta, is a honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922 at Oklahoma City University by Dr. Frank G. Brooks, the society has grown to include more than 670 chapters across the United States and Puerto Rico.

Membership

Membership in Beta Beta Beta is open to undergraduate students who have completed at least one term of college and have taken at least three semester hours (or equivalent) of biology coursework. Prospective members must also meet the society's academic standards, which typically include a minimum GPA requirement. There are three types of membership: Regular, Associate, and Honorary. Regular membership is reserved for those who have declared a biology major or minor and meet the academic criteria. Associate membership is available to those interested in biology but not pursuing a biology major or minor. Honorary membership is granted to individuals who have made significant contributions to the biological sciences.

Chapters

Beta Beta Beta has established chapters at accredited colleges and universities across the United States and Puerto Rico. Each chapter is identified by a unique Greek letter designation and operates under the national constitution of the society.
