5,6-MDO-DiPT

5,6-MDO-DiPT is a psychedelic and hallucinogenic drug used in psychotherapy and recreational drug use. It is a member of the tryptamine family.

Chemistry[edit]

5,6-MDO-DiPT, or 5,6-methylenedioxy-N,N-diisopropyltryptamine, is a synthetic compound of the tryptamine class. Tryptamines share a core structure comprised of a bicylic indole heterocycle attached at R3 to an amino group via an ethyl side chain. 5,6-MDO-DiPT is substituted at R5 and R6 of its indole heterocycle with two methylenedioxy groups CH2O2. It also contains two isopropyl chains bound to the terminal amine RN of its tryptamine backbone.

Pharmacology[edit]

The mechanism that produces the hallucinogenic and entheogenic effects of 5,6-MDO-DiPT is thought to result primarily from 5-HT2A receptor agonism. The psychedelic effects are believed to come from 5,6-MDO-DiPT's efficacy at the 5-HT2A receptors. However, the role of these interactions and how they result in the psychedelic experience continues to remain elusive.

Effects[edit]

The effects of 5,6-MDO-DiPT are similar to other psychedelic tryptamines but with a unique profile. Users report intense visuals, altered thinking processes, and a strong sense of euphoria. The duration of effects typically lasts between 4-8 hours, depending on dosage and individual metabolism.

Legality[edit]

5,6-MDO-DiPT is unscheduled in the United States, but it could possibly be considered an analog of DiPT, which is a Schedule I drug under the Federal Analogue Act.
