Kyriazis Medical Museum is a museum located in Larnaca, Cyprus. It is dedicated to the history of medicine and health care in Cyprus. The museum is named after its founder, Dr. Marios Kyriazis, a prominent Cypriot gerontologist and author.

History

The Kyriazis Medical Museum was established in 2011 by Dr. Marios Kyriazis. The museum is housed in a traditional Cypriot house that dates back to the 19th century. The house was donated by the Kyriazis family and was renovated to accommodate the museum's collections.

Collections

The museum's collections include a wide range of medical instruments, equipment, and artifacts that illustrate the history of medicine in Cyprus. These include surgical instruments, pharmaceutical items, dental equipment, and a variety of other medical paraphernalia. The museum also houses a library of medical books and documents, some of which date back to the 18th century.

Exhibitions

The Kyriazis Medical Museum hosts regular exhibitions on various aspects of medical history. These exhibitions often feature items from the museum's collections, as well as items loaned from other institutions and private collections. Past exhibitions have covered topics such as the history of surgery, the development of pharmaceuticals, and the role of women in medicine.

Education

In addition to its exhibitions, the Kyriazis Medical Museum also offers educational programs for schools and the general public. These programs aim to increase understanding of the history of medicine and its impact on society. They include guided tours, workshops, and lectures by experts in the field.
