Yerkes, Pennsylvania is a small unincorporated community located in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, in the United States. The community is part of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, which is the eighth-largest metropolitan area in the United States.

History[edit]

Yerkes was named after the Yerkes family, who were early settlers in the area. The community has a rich history, with many of its buildings and structures dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.

Geography[edit]

Yerkes is located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, approximately 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The community is situated in the Schuylkill River valley, with the river forming its eastern boundary.
