Popular culture (also known as pop culture) is the set of practices, beliefs, and objects that are dominant or prevalent in a society at a given point in time. It is also defined by the themes and activities that are well understood and easily recognized by the mass of society.

Criticism

Critics of popular culture often argue that it is superficial, commercialized, and lacking in depth or intellectual value. They argue that it promotes conformity and discourages critical thinking.
