Phil Schiller

Phil Schiller‏‎ is an American business executive who served as the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Apple Inc. from 2002 to 2020. He is recognized for his contributions to the development and marketing of a number of Apple's flagship products, including the iPhone, iPad, and Macintosh.

Early Life and Education

Schiller was born in Natick, Massachusetts, in 1960. He attended Boston College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1982.

Career

Schiller began his career at Apple Inc. in 1987, working in product marketing for the Macintosh. He left Apple in 1993 to join FirePower Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc., as Vice President of Product Marketing.

In 1997, Schiller returned to Apple, joining the executive team of Steve Jobs, who had recently returned to the company as CEO. Schiller was appointed Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, a position he held until 2002 when he was promoted to Senior Vice President.

During his tenure as Senior Vice President, Schiller played a key role in the development and launch of many of Apple's most successful products, including the iPhone, iPad, and Macintosh. He was also responsible for Apple's product management and product marketing, developer relations, market research, business management, and education, enterprise, and international marketing.

In August 2020, Schiller stepped down from his role as Senior Vice President and transitioned to an Apple Fellow, continuing to lead the App Store and Apple Events.

Personal Life

Schiller is married and has two children. He is an avid Boston sports fan and is known for his love of photography.
