Red Hill, Pennsylvania

Red Hill, Pennsylvania is a borough located in Montgomery County, in the United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough had a population of 2,383. Red Hill is part of the Upper Perkiomen School District.

History[edit]

Red Hill was incorporated as a borough in 1902. The borough was named for the red soil on a nearby hill. The area was originally settled in the 18th century by German immigrants, who established farms and businesses.

Geography[edit]

Red Hill is located at 40°22′33″N 75°29′13″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.9 square miles, all of it land. The borough is surrounded by Upper Hanover Township.

Demographics[edit]

As of the 2010 census, there were 2,383 people, 1,020 households, and 660 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,648.9 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the borough was 96.6% White, 1.3% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.8% of the population.

Education[edit]

Red Hill is served by the Upper Perkiomen School District. Schools in the district include Marlborough Elementary School, Upper Perkiomen Middle School, and Upper Perkiomen High School.
