MJB (coffee)
MJB (coffee) is a brand of coffee that was established in the United States in 1881 by Max J. Brandenstein and his brothers. The brand is currently owned by Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group, an Italian coffee company.
History
MJB Coffee was founded in San Francisco, California by Max J. Brandenstein and his brothers Mannie, Charlie, and Eddie. The initials of the company, MJB, were derived from Max J. Brandenstein's name. The Brandenstein family were pioneers in the coffee industry, introducing several innovations in coffee processing and packaging.
In 1908, MJB introduced vacuum packing to preserve the freshness of their coffee, a method that is still widely used in the coffee industry today. In 1950, MJB became one of the first coffee companies to offer instant coffee.
MJB Coffee was sold to Nestlé in 1985, and then to the Italian coffee company Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group in 2005.
Products
MJB Coffee offers a variety of coffee products, including ground coffee, whole bean coffee, and instant coffee. Their product line includes MJB Classic Roast, MJB Premium Coffee, and MJB Hawaiian Blend.
Reception
MJB Coffee has been well received for its quality and taste. It has a loyal customer base, particularly in the Western United States.
