History

Illovo Sugar was established in 1891 and has grown steadily since its inception. The company was initially a single, small sugar mill based in the Illovo Valley, KwaZulu-Natal. Today, Illovo Sugar is a subsidiary of Associated British Foods (ABF), which holds a 51.35% equity interest.
