Graham Rahal

Graham Rahal (born January 4, 1989) is an American professional racing driver. He currently competes in the IndyCar Series with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, a team partially owned by his father Bobby Rahal, the winner of the 1986 Indianapolis 500.

Early life

Rahal was born in Columbus, Ohio, the son of 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Bobby Rahal and Debi Rahal. He attended New Albany High School in New Albany, Ohio, where he played football.

Career

Rahal began his career in kart racing, winning the Stars of Karting East Division in 2004 and finishing second in the national championship. He moved up to car racing in 2005, competing in the Formula BMW USA series and finishing second in the championship.

In 2006, Rahal moved to the Star Mazda Championship, where he won five races and finished second in the championship. He also made his debut in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship, finishing third in his first race.

In 2007, Rahal joined Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing in the Champ Car World Series. He became the youngest winner in series history when he won the 2008 Grand Prix of St. Petersburg at the age of 19.

Rahal moved to the IndyCar Series in 2008, joining Rahal Letterman Racing, the team co-owned by his father. He has since won multiple races in the series, including the 2015 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama and the 2016 Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.

Personal life

Rahal is married to former NHRA drag racer Courtney Force, daughter of 16-time Funny Car champion John Force. They have one daughter together.
