Bainbridge

Bainbridge is a term with multiple meanings in the medical field. Bainbridge reflex

The Bainbridge reflex or atrial reflex is an increase in heart rate due to an increase in central venous pressure. Increased blood volume is detected by stretch receptors (baroreceptors) located in both atria at the venoatrial junctions. The reflex was first described by the British physiologist Francis Arthur Bainbridge in 1915.
