MODY 1

MODY 1 is a form of Maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY), a group of inherited forms of diabetes mellitus. MODY 1 is caused by mutations in the HNF4A gene.

Overview

MODY 1 is a rare form of diabetes that is different from both Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes. It is caused by a mutation in a single gene and is inherited in an autosomal dominant manner.
