The company was established in 2010 and has since grown to become one of the largest pub operators in the country. History
Stonegate Pub Company was established in 2010 by private equity firm TDR Capital, following their purchase of 333 pubs from Mitchells & Butlers. Since its establishment, the company has grown both organically and through acquisitions. In 2011, Stonegate acquired the Town & City Pub Company, adding a further 292 pubs to its portfolio.
In 2013, the company acquired the Bramwell Pub Company, and in 2016, it acquired the Intertain chain, adding Walkabout bars and Jongleurs comedy clubs to its portfolio. In 2019, Stonegate announced its intention to acquire Ei Group, the largest pub company in the UK, for £1.27 billion. The acquisition was completed in March 2020, making Stonegate the largest pub and bar operator in the UK.

Stonegate Pub Company operates over 4,500 pubs and bars across the UK. The company operates a variety of pub formats, including traditional pubs, high-street pubs, and bars. Some of the brands operated by Stonegate include Slug and Lettuce, Yates, Walkabout, and Be At One.
The company also operates a number of unbranded pubs, which are tailored to their local market. These pubs often feature traditional pub games, live sports, and food offerings.
