Co-founding Starbucks

In 1971, Baldwin, along with his partners Gordon Bowker and Zev Siegl, co-founded Starbucks Coffee Company. The trio initially opened a small coffee shop in Seattle's Pike Place Market, selling high-quality coffee beans and equipment. They were inspired by Alfred Peet, the founder of Peet's Coffee & Tea, and aimed to bring the same level of quality and expertise to the coffee industry.

Expansion and Growth

Under Baldwin's leadership, Starbucks expanded rapidly throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The company opened new stores across the United States and eventually expanded internationally.
