Orchard Park is a town located in Erie County, New York, United States. It is situated in the western part of the state and is a suburb of Buffalo. The town covers an area of 24.8 square miles (64.2 km2) and has a population of 29,054 as of the 2010 census.

History

Orchard Park was settled in 1803 and was incorporated as a town in 1850. The town was named after its abundance of orchards. It was primarily an agricultural community until the early 20th century when it began to develop as a residential suburb.

Orchard Park is governed by a Town Council system. The town is led by a Supervisor, currently Patrick J. Keem. The Town Council consists of several members who are responsible for making decisions and implementing policies for the town.

As of the 2010 census, there were 29,054 people residing in Orchard Park. The racial makeup of the town was 96.5% White, 1.1% African American, 0.1% Native American, 1.2% Asian, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.6% of the population.
