Jinja Regional Referral Hospital, commonly known as Jinja Hospital, is a public hospital located in the city of Jinja, in the Eastern Region of Uganda. It is the largest hospital in eastern Uganda, with a bed capacity of 600. However, due to high patient demand, many more patients are admitted, often resulting in overcrowding.<ref name="1R"> The Electives Network. Location
Jinja Hospital is situated in the center of Jinja, near the Source of the Nile. It serves as the Regional Referral Hospital for several districts in the surrounding area, including Bugiri, Iganga, Jinja, Kaliro, Kamuli, Luuka, Mayuge, Namayingo, Kayunga, and parts of Buikwe.<ref name="2R"> Abubaker Mukose. Overview
Jinja Hospital is a general and teaching hospital, operated by the Uganda Ministry of Health. It is one of the thirteen Regional Referral Hospitals in Uganda and serves as a training facility for medical interns from Ugandan medical schools. The hospital has a bed capacity of 600, but often exceeds this number due to high patient demand. The hospital provides a wide range of healthcare services to the local population and plays a crucial role in the healthcare system of eastern Uganda.<ref name="1R" />
