Valerie Bertinelli is an American actress, author, and television personality. She was born on April 23, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware, and is best known for her roles on the television shows "One Day at a Time" and "Hot in Cleveland."

Early Life and Career

Bertinelli began her career as a child actress, appearing in several television commercials and shows. She gained national recognition in 1975 when she was cast as Barbara Cooper in the television sitcom "One Day at a Time." Bertinelli continued to act throughout the 1980s and 1990s, appearing in a variety of television shows and movies. She also became a spokesperson for the Jenny Craig weight loss program in the early 2000s.

Television Career

In 2010, Bertinelli landed the role of Melanie Moretti on the television series "Hot in Cleveland," which aired for six seasons. She also hosted the cooking show "Valerie's Home Cooking" on the Food Network from 2015 to 2021, which showcased her passion for cooking and entertaining. Bertinelli has also appeared as a guest judge on several Food Network competition shows, including "Kids Baking Championship" and "Worst Cooks in America."

Personal Life

Bertinelli has been married twice, first to musician Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007, and then to financial planner Tom Vitale in 2011. She has one son, Wolfgang, with Van Halen.
