Randalls is a supermarket chain that operates in the Houston and Austin areas. The company was founded in 1966 by Robert Randall Onstead, R.C Barclay, and Norman N. Frewin in Houston, Texas. They opened their first store under the name "Randalls". The company was acquired by Safeway in 1999 and later became part of Albertsons in 2015.
History
Robert Randall Onstead, R.C Barclay, and Norman N. Frewin founded Randalls in 1966. The first store was opened in Houston, Texas. The company expanded rapidly in the 1980s and 1990s, acquiring several other grocery chains. In 1999, Safeway Inc. acquired Randalls. After Safeway's merger with Albertsons in 2015, Randalls became part of the Albertsons family of stores.
Store Operations
Randalls operates supermarkets in the Houston and Austin areas. The stores offer a variety of products, including fresh produce, meat and seafood, bakery items, dairy products, wine and beer, and health and beauty products. In addition to these, Randalls also provides services such as pharmacies, floral departments, and fuel centers.
Community Involvement

The company has a program called "Good Neighbor Program" that allows customers to link their Remarkable Card to a participating non-profit of their choice. Every time customers shop and use their card, Randalls donates a percentage of the sales to the customer's chosen organization.
