MDMB-4en-PINACA is a synthetic cannabinoid that has been identified in illicit products since 2019 and is sold as a designer drug. It is a potent agonist of the CB1 receptor, with a binding affinity of 0.094 nM, making it approximately 25 times more potent than THC.

History

MDMB-4en-PINACA was first identified in illicit products in 2019. It is a member of the synthetic cannabinoids family, which are a group of drugs that mimic the effects of cannabis. These substances have been associated with a number of adverse effects, including severe illness and death.

Pharmacology

MDMB-4en-PINACA is a potent agonist of the CB1 receptor, with a binding affinity of 0.094 nM. This makes it approximately 25 times more potent than THC, the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis. The effects of MDMB-4en-PINACA in humans are largely unknown, as there is very little scientific research on this substance.

Legal status

As of 2020, MDMB-4en-PINACA is a controlled substance in several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. It is also listed as a Schedule I substance under the United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances.
