Garnier

Garnier is a mass market cosmetics brand of French cosmetics company L'Oréal. It produces hair care and skin care products.

History

The company started as Laboratoires Garnier in 1904 by French creator Alfred Amour Garnier, through the launch of his first patented plant-based hair lotion, La Lotion Garnier. In the 1930s, Garnier was an early producer of sun-care items and the first to make a permanent home hair color in 1960. It was acquired by L'Oréal in the 1970s.

Products

Garnier offers a wide variety of beauty products through its well-known and worldwide branches. These range from hair care, color & styling products, to skincare products. Some of the popular lines include:

• Garnier Fructis: A hair care line debuted in 2002. It includes shampoos, conditioners, and hair treatments.
• Garnier Nutrisse: This is Garnier's hair color line. It offers permanent and semi-permanent hair color products.
• Garnier SkinActive: This line focuses on skin care products like cleansers, moisturizers, and treatments.

Sustainability

Garnier is committed to sustainable sourcing, reduced environmental impact, and the use of renewable raw materials in its products. In 2015, Garnier announced a partnership with TerraCycle to promote recycling of personal care products.
