Vehicle

A vehicle is a machine that transports people or cargo. Vehicles include wagons, bicycles, motor vehicles (motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses), railed vehicles (trains, trams), watercraft (ships, boats), amphibious vehicles (screw-propelled vehicle, hovercraft), aircraft (airplanes, helicopters) and spacecraft.

Land vehicles

Land vehicles are the most common type of vehicle. They are used for a variety of purposes, including personal transportation, commercial transportation, and industrial transportation. Land vehicles can be powered by a variety of means, including human power, animal power, and motor power.

Motor vehicles

A motor vehicle is a self-propelled vehicle, commonly wheeled, that does not operate on rails, such as trains or trams and used for the transportation of passengers, or passengers and property. The vehicle propulsion is provided by an engine or motor, usually an internal combustion engine or an electric motor, or some combination of the two, such as hybrid electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.

Watercraft

A watercraft is a vehicle designed to float on and move across (or through) water for pleasure, physical exercise (in the case of swimming aids), military use or to transport people and goods.

Aircraft

An aircraft is a vehicle that is able to fly by gaining support from the air, or, in general, the atmosphere of a planet. It counters the force of gravity by using either static lift or by using the dynamic lift of an airfoil, or in a few cases the downward thrust from jet engines.

Spacecraft

A spacecraft is a vehicle designed for travel or operation in outer space. Spacecraft are used for a variety of purposes, including communications, earth observation, meteorology, navigation, space colonization, planetary exploration, and transportation of humans and cargo.
