Turquoise Ribbon is a symbol that represents several causes in the realm of health and wellness. It is often used to raise awareness for various diseases and conditions, including but not limited to, Interstitial Cystitis, Addiction Recovery, Native American Reparation, and Dysautonomia.

Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial Cystitis (IC), also known as painful bladder syndrome, is a chronic condition causing bladder pressure, bladder pain and sometimes pelvic pain. The pain ranges from mild discomfort to severe. The turquoise ribbon is used to raise awareness about this condition and to support those who are suffering from it.

Addiction Recovery

The turquoise ribbon also symbolizes Addiction Recovery. Addiction is a complex condition, a brain disease that is manifested by compulsive substance use despite harmful consequence. Recovery is a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.

Native American Reparation

The turquoise ribbon is also a symbol for Native American Reparation. This refers to the actions taken by the United States government, private companies, and individuals to compensate for the damages caused to Native American communities due to land confiscation, forced labor, and other injustices.

Dysautonomia

Dysautonomia refers to a group of medical conditions that cause a malfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). This can lead to all sorts of symptoms, including lightheadedness, fainting, unstable blood pressure, and many others. The turquoise ribbon is used to raise awareness about these conditions.
