Monroeville is a borough located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a suburb of Pittsburgh and is situated approximately 13 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh. Monroeville is known for being the home of the Monroeville Mall, the largest shopping mall in Western Pennsylvania.

History

Monroeville was founded in 1769 and was named after Joel Monroe, a prominent landowner in the area. The borough was officially incorporated in 1951. Over the years, Monroeville has experienced significant growth and development, becoming a thriving community with a diverse population.
