Barbra Streisand (born April 24, 1942) is an American singer, actress, and filmmaker. With a career spanning over six decades, she has achieved success in multiple fields of entertainment and is one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Early Life
Barbra Streisand was born in Brooklyn, New York City, to a Jewish family. Her father, Emanuel Streisand, was a high school teacher, and her mother, Diana Rosen, was a soprano singer. Streisand attended Erasmus Hall High School, where she began to develop her interest in the arts.
Career
Music
Streisand's music career began in the early 1960s. Her debut album, The Barbra Streisand Album, was released in 1963 and won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. She has released over 50 studio albums, with notable works including Guilty (1980) and The Broadway Album (1985).
Film
