Vachon Inc. is a Canadian company specializing in the production and distribution of baked goods. The company was founded in 1923 by Rose-Anna Giroux and Joseph-Arcade Vachon in Sainte-Marie, Quebec. Vachon Inc. is best known for its popular snack cakes such as Jos. Louis, May West, and Passion Flakie.
History
Vachon Inc. was established in 1923 when Rose-Anna Giroux and Joseph-Arcade Vachon converted their family home into a bakery. The company initially produced bread, but soon expanded to include pastries and cakes. In 1932, Vachon Inc. introduced its first snack cake, the Jos. Louis, named after the Vachon's sons, Joseph and Louis.
In the following decades, Vachon Inc. continued to expand its product line and distribution network. The company was acquired by Canada Bread in 1999, which in turn was purchased by Grupo Bimbo in 2014.
