Palmetto Cheese

Palmetto Cheese is a popular brand of pimento cheese that originated in the Southern United States. It is often referred to as "The Pimento Cheese with Soul" and is known for its rich, creamy texture and flavorful blend of sharp cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, pimentos, and various spices.

History

Palmetto Cheese was first created by Sassy Henry for her family to enjoy. It was initially served at tailgate parties and family gatherings, but quickly gained popularity and began to be sold at local markets. In 2006, Sassy and her husband Brian Henry started to commercially produce and distribute Palmetto Cheese from their restaurant, the Sea View Inn, in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

Varieties

There are three main varieties of Palmetto Cheese: Original, Jalapeno, and Bacon. The Original Palmetto Cheese is the classic recipe, while the Jalapeno Palmetto Cheese adds a spicy kick with diced jalapenos. The Bacon Palmetto Cheese includes bits of real bacon for an added savory flavor.

Production

The production of Palmetto Cheese involves a careful blending of ingredients to achieve the perfect balance of flavors. The cheese is made in small batches to ensure quality and consistency. The process begins with grating sharp cheddar cheese, which is then mixed with mayonnaise, pimentos, and a secret blend of spices. For the Jalapeno and Bacon varieties, diced jalapenos or bits of real bacon are added to the mix.

Distribution

Palmetto Cheese is distributed throughout the United States and can be found in many major grocery store chains. It is also available for purchase online through the company's website.

Usage

Palmetto Cheese can be used in a variety of ways. It is often spread on crackers or sandwiches, but can also be used as a dip for vegetables or chips. Some people even use it as a topping for burgers or hot dogs.
