Phillipsburg is a town located in Warren County, New Jersey, United States. It is situated along the Delaware River, across from Easton, Pennsylvania. Phillipsburg is part of the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area.
History
Phillipsburg was incorporated as a town on March 8, 1861, from portions of Phillipsburg Township. The town has a rich history as a transportation hub, with the Central Railroad of New Jersey and the Lehigh Valley Railroad playing significant roles in its development.
Geography
Phillipsburg is located at the confluence of the Delaware River and the Lehigh River. The town covers a total area of 8.2 square kilometers, of which 7.9 square kilometers is land and 0.3 square kilometers is water.
