Inverted refers to a state or condition where something is turned upside down or inside out, or generally, the opposite of its normal position. This term is used in various fields such as mathematics, physics, biology, music, and technology.
Mathematics[edit]
In mathematics, an inverted function, also known as an inverse function, is a function that "reverses" another function. If the function f applied to an input x gives a result of y, then applying its inverse function g to y gives the result x, and vice versa.
Physics[edit]
In physics, inverted often refers to a state where the top and bottom, or left and right, of an object or system are switched. For example, an inverted pendulum is a pendulum that has its center of mass above its pivot point.
