Journal of Gambling Studies is a peer-reviewed medical journal that covers all aspects of gambling behavior, from its various causes and manifestations, to its effects on individuals and society. The journal publishes research that contributes to the understanding of gambling and related behaviors, including studies of the prevalence and distribution of these behaviors, their association with health and other outcomes, and their treatment.
Overview[edit]
The Journal of Gambling Studies is published by Springer Science+Business Media, and its editor-in-chief is Marc N. Potenza (Yale University). The journal publishes empirical research on all aspects of gambling, including, but not limited to, the following topics:
- The psychology and sociology of gambling
- The epidemiology of gambling and problem gambling
- The neurobiology and genetics of gambling
- The treatment of problem gambling
The journal also publishes literature reviews, theoretical papers, and book reviews.

The Journal of Gambling Studies is abstracted and indexed in Scopus, Social Science Citation Index, PsycINFO, and PubMed. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 2.639.
